ORTA thanks the National WEP & GPO Repeal Movement Facebook group for alerting us to the hearing on April 16. We encourage everyone who supports the repeal of the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO) to join this Facebook group.
What is the National WEP & GPO Repeal Movement?
We are a grassroots Facebook movement to repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO), focusing on a political action model and education.
We are working to move bipartisan companion bills H.R. 82 (House bill) and S. 597 (Senate bill) forward to eliminate the WEP and the GPO, encouraging legislators to cosponsor the bills and engaging leadership in the House and Senate.
We function as a repository of political action where you can easily access campaigns to fight to repeal the WEP & GPO.
The Three Tenets of Our Advocacy Efforts
1. Full repeal of the WEP and GPO.
2. Full repeal of the WEP and GPO for current and future individuals impacted by the WEP and GPO.
3. Full repeal of the WEP and GPO for current and future individuals impacted by the offsets must include foreign pensioners and those residing in outlying areas.
