Lucas County Retired Teachers Board December 2023

These are the educators who plan the annual events for the Lucas County Retired Teachers Association. Six luncheons a year are planned by this talented group. What does arranging a luncheon for members entail? Committees make certain there is an appropriate venue, a choice of three gourmet meals, a guest speaker or entertainment, and a representative from the community partner we are supporting that month. Reservations have to be counted, centerpieces made, and a registration table organized, and raffle tickets prepared. Our board makes certain our guests feel welcome and a display is prepared, featuring photos from the last luncheon. Thanks to the diligence of our board, these luncheons are a delightful experience for each of our deserving retirees who attend.

Invitation to Building For a Better Tomorrow

LCRTA received the Outstanding Partner Award during the ETFC luncheon on April 6, 2024.

"The group meets monthly and is very supportive of local agencies and organizations by helping them behind the scenes. Their giving spirit as a group shows that they care about their community. They help agencies collect items that help support their programming needs. ETFC is one of their partners. The group has been helping ETFC collect items for our families over the last seven years. They have collected paper products, sanitizer, tissues and many other items. This month they are collecting supplies for our enrichment programs; paints, brushes, and tie-die supplies. These items go a long way to help us expand our budgets on these types of items. It is my pleasure to recognize the Lucas County Retired Teachers as an Outstanding Partner of ETFC!"

Receiving the award are (left to right) Mary Elen Bolenbacher (LCRTA Community Partnerships Co-Chair), Holy Keenen (ETFC Youth Enrichment Director), Pauline LoCascio (LCRTA Community Partnerships Co-Chair), Cheryl Amborski (ETFC Preschool Director), Susan Santoro (LCRTAPresident)
