Message from the President
Greeting ORTA members, I am pleased to be greeting you for the first time as the ORTA President. It is especially exciting to be serving in the year of our 75th Anniversary of the establishment of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. Over the last two and a half years I have had the privilege and enlightening experience of serving on the Executive Committee with Kara Mendenhall and Bee Lehner, under the guidance of Dr. Robin Rayfield, Executive Director.
I am looking forward, with great anticipation, to serving with our new President-Elect, Dean Dennis, a man of unique talents and dedication to the retired teachers of Ohio.

STRS News & Call to Action!
The STRS board did not meeting July, however, there are a few items to remind you all about June’s meeting and what is on the docket for August. In June, the current board voted to allow the current Chair of STRS to negotiate an extension of Executive Director Bill Neville’s contract. The amendment included several noteworthy items:

Flex High School of Cleveland – A Full-time Science Teacher position is immediately available with a sign-on bonus! Individuals who have part-time availability may also be considered.
