ORTA advocates for the pensions and benefits of Ohio's active and retired educators; demands accountability from the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio; and lobbies Ohio's legislators to provide a strong and sustainable retirement system for all Ohio educators, Pre-K through higher education. We rely on membership dues to continue our work.

Licking County is the home of Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve and the Licking County Retired Teachers Association. "Our affiliation with ORTA strengthens our voice. Because of information available to them, many of our members are politically active regarding STRS benefits and any legislation affecting them."
May 6th is the last day to vote for Michelle Flanigan for STRS Ohio Board
The deadline for voting is 4:30 PM on Monday, May 6, for the election for one contributing (active) seat on the STRS Ohio Retirement Board. It's too late to vote by mail. Use the instructions printed on your ballot to vote online or by phone.
Each eligible voter is assigned a distinct EVN (electronic validation number) that prevents duplicate voting. Your EVN is printed on your ballot. If you have misplaced your ballot, call Election Services Co. customer service line toll-free at 866-276-1506 for help. The customer service center is open 9 a.m.–5 p.m., EDT.
