ORTA Legislation InfoORTA will continue positive working relationships with legislators and staff to secure support for retiree issues. ORTA will continue opposition to any efforts to combine the five Ohio pension systems. ORTA opposes any efforts to borrow any money at any time from the pension systems; and opposes mandated retirement systems' investments, e.g. "Buy Ohio." ORTA will study present age and service requirements as the minimum for full pension benefits. ORTA supports legislation that provides state income tax exemption for public pension. ORTA opposes any legislation that would require retirement systems to be loaned or invested in specific issues designated by the legislature or the governor. |
